I2 Recycles to Recycle

Posted at September 27, 2011 | By : | Categories : Blog,News | 0 Comment

Most people forget that “Recycle” is only one component in the recycle loop.  There are two other, equally important components, that lead toward the path of sustainability.  The other two, Reduce and Reuse, are the most commonly overlooked techniques that together, have a greater impact on minimizing our environmental footprint than Recycling alone.

The pictures above illustrates one of our efforts to Reuse an old aviation baggage cart that would have otherwise been discarded.  The cart was refurbished and will serve it’s next life as a mobile cardboard collection bin.

There are opportunities to Reuse items everywhere we look.  Tires into swings, jars into containers, T-shirts to rags, and don’t forget that old clothes and furniture can be donated to your local Good Will.  Next Time you have an old item ready for the trash, “think before you throw” maybe that item has second useful life.
